Safety Interlocks
Safety interlocks are most likely used at access points to a machine. In most applications a safety interlock is a device used to help prevent a machine from harming its operator or damaging itself by stopping the machine when tripped. Sometimes it's known as a "Gate Switch."

Inserting the actuator into the switch head closes the safety contacts (NM, NP, GP, NZ). The TP, STP, TZ or TX series integrate a solenoid to hold the guard closed until elimination of stored energy hazards.
